Estate Planning Team Hosts “Asset Protection 2013 Update Seminar” in Orlando and Viera
Earlier this month, Dean Mead presented two seminars in Central Florida entitled, “Asset Protection 2013 Update”. These seminars focused on recent legal developments that significantly impact planning opportunities for protecting your client’s assets, including developments regarding homestead, life insurance, asset protection trusts and LLCs. A brief overview of the landmark Supreme Court opinion in Windsor and subsequent IRS guidance for same-sex couples was also included.
The first presentation was held at the Orange County Bar Association on October 10, 2013. The featured panelists in Orlando included attorneys Matthew J. Ahearn, Lauren Y. Detzel and Brian M. Malec. The second seminar was held on October 17, 2013 at Wesche Jewelers in Melbourne. The presenting attorneys were Claudia Haines Jones and Robert J. Naberhaus III. This topic drew in a large number of attendees in both locations.
