Mr. Wert is a member of the Litigation Department in the Orlando office. He is Board Certified in Construction Law by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and has practiced in the area of business litigation, with an emphasis in construction law, commercial litigation, real estate litigation, and creditors’ rights since 1993. He is also a Circuit Civil Court Mediator certified by the Florida Supreme Court, who has mediated numerous business disputes. Mr. Wert serves on the 52-member Board of Governors of the Florida Bar, which has exclusive authority to formulate and adopt matters of policy concerning the activities of the Bar. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Associated Builders & Contractors of Florida and Associated Builders & Contractors Central Florida Chapter.

Mr. Wert has represented numerous large and middle-market companies, local governments, banks and other financial institutions, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, design professionals, developers, small businesses and individuals in cases involving construction defects, delay claims, lien law, design liability, dispute resolution, licensing issues, procurement, condominium and home owner associations, credit agreements, contract disputes, business torts, government bid protests, intellectual property rights and bankruptcy. Mr. Wharton has over 30 years of experience in Tallahassee practicing before and often litigating against numerous state agencies in the areas of water resource planning; permitting and regulation; mitigation banking; bid protests and bid disputes; health care; utility law and utility regulation; professional regulation and environmental law. Mr. Wharton has represented clients before the Florida Public Service Commission, the Division of Administrative Hearings, the Department of Environmental Protection, the St. John’s River Water Management District, the Southwest Florida Water Management District, the South Florida Water Management District, the Agency for Health Care Administration, the Department of Financial Services, various boards within the Department of Professional Regulation, the Department of Health, the Florida Department of Lottery, and the Governor and Cabinet sitting as the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund, among others.

Ms. White practices in Dean Mead’s Litigation department. She represents the rights of creditors in many areas, including foreclosure, replevin, bankruptcy, debt collection and commercial litigation. She has practiced solely in the area of creditors’ rights since 1996.

Ms. White focuses her practice on foreclosures, workouts, reformation actions, quiet title actions, writs of possession, and evictions throughout the state of Florida. She ensures that her clients’ defaulted mortgages result in either an acceptable work out plan – such as a mortgage modification – or a foreclosure that is completed as quickly as possible and that results in clear title. Recognizing that each defaulting borrower is also her clients’ customer, Ms. White handles each case with candor and treats each debtor with respect.

The newest Associate Attorney to join our Viera Team, Ian’s litigation practice will focus on providing legal counsel for matters involving business, real estate, and construction disputes.
