(Orlando, FL) Effective December 26, reporting companies are not currently required to comply with the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) and related reporting obligations. Dean Mead attorney Austin Alderman continues to remain abreast of the ongoing debate within the courts regarding the unconstitutionality of the reporting requirements.
The injunction of the CTA was ordered by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The Court’s decision follows a December 23 announcement from the Financial Crime Enforcement Network (FinCEN), who released updated CTA filing deadlines on December 23 following a prior court’s decision.
According to Austin, additional appeals are anticipated.
