In his article “CTA Meets the Supreme Court”, attorney Austin Alderman shares details pertaining to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network’s application filing with the Supreme Court of the United States to stay a nationwide injunction of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) from the Fifth Circuit.
The author writes, “The Supreme Court’s decision may not determine the merits of the law itself, and it is likely litigation will continue, though their ruling will either solidify the current injunction or remove those protections.”
If the protections are removed businesses will, once again, be required to file Beneficial Ownership Information Reports (BOIR). A timeline of events associated with the CTA is included in the article: https://www.deanmead.com/cta-meets-the-supreme-court/.
