The Florida Tax Institute will hold its annual three-day conference in Tampa beginning on Wednesday, February 12, at the Tampa Marriott Water Street. We are pleased to sponsor this institute for the second consecutive year. The program features top, nationally recognized speakers on tax, business and estate planning issues. It is developed for attorneys, accountants, trust officers, insurance and financial planners, and planned giving professionals from across Florida and the United States.
Additionally, Stephen R. Looney, Chair of the firm’s Corporate and Tax Department is speaking at the conference on Thursday, February 13 at 8:30 a.m. His session, “New Section 199A… Where are We Now?” examines the Section 199A deduction available to pass-through entities and sole proprietorships as it applies to both qualified trades or businesses and specified service trades or businesses. Looney will also discuss the Final Regulations under new Section 199A and the effect Section 199A could have on choice of entity decisions.
The Florida Tax Institute is presented by the Florida Tax Education Foundation, Inc., and all proceeds from the event benefit the University of Florida Levin College Of Law Graduate Tax Program. Access the full conference agenda and registration details here.
